Hard facts
Instead of fine words. . . a few hard facts:
- We are a certified organic farm with organic plant production and organic animal husbandry. (AgroBioTest DE-EKO-07-05567)
- The total area of the farm is 18.72 ha (1998- 2012 : 22.94 ha).
- 14.3 ha of the farmland is utilised agricultur area (2/3 VI and 1/3 V class), 2.16 ha are forest and the remaining 2.26 ha are hedges, groups of trees, buildings, access road, ponds, wild marshes,
houses and field stone walls, which were built without mortar. - Of the 14.3 ha of organic and biologically cultivated agricultural area, 11.27 ha arable land cultivated under the crop rotation system and 3.03 ha are permanent pasture ground.
We cultivate:
- Spelt, rye, summer wheat, buckwheat and mixtures of cereals (oats, barley, wheat)
- Lupins and mixtures of cereals with pulses, horseradish
- Potatoes, red clover, alfalfa and more
- Grass mixtures with clovers
- Greenseed mixture Terralife Solanum
- In 2 gardens with a total area of 7-10a we grow various vegetables, herbs and flowers, currants, raspberries etc.
- Fruit trees and berry shrubs also grow in different parts of the property, especially in hedges.
We have:
- three dairy cows and sometimes a heifer
- 5-7 dairy goats, 1 he-goat
- 15-30 chickens and 1-3 roosters
- 2 dogs and 3 cats.
The properties currently consist of:
- Residential house, guest house that can be rented or used as accommodation for guests, interns and volunteers,
- arm building, wooden barn,
- stable – barn,
- old stonestable with hickenroom,
- and an old wooden shed.
In the yard there are 3 ponds, the largest is suitable for swimming.
Many species of wild animals are permanent inhabitants of our farm area, such as beavers, foxes, hares etc. and even more are regular visitors such as moose, wild boar, wolves etc. – Only bears, bison and lynx
have not passed here yet.
The climate is harsh, the vegetation period is short and the soils are rather young and weak – there is little humus, but a lot of gravel, sand and stones.
The air is clean, the soil is healthy and free of pollutants, the vegetation is natural and rich in species, thearea beautiful and interesting.
